Frederick is a lifetime resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina. He and his wife Yolanda have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. He is an Adjunct Instructor at two local colleges. He also teaches with the Viking Early College Program, which allows high school students to obtain college credits while still in high school. Presently, he is pursuing a Masters Degree in marketing.
Frederick’s goal is to touch the hearts of people in order to provide them with tools needed to become everything that God intended.
Jo Anne Smith
Jo Anne is a lifetime resident of Moore, South Carolina. She and her husband Willie are the parents of two sons, two daughters, twelve grandchildren and one great-grand son. She attended Spartanburg Methodist College, graduated from Spartanburg Community College and is a licensed minister. She retired from Clemson’s Extension Services and the Department of Social Services and is presently the director of ARCH Ministries, an after school program serving the Hispanic/Latino community. Jo Anne is also on the ministerial staff of WE, (Women Empowerment) a ministry of the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen.
Jo Anne’s goal is to represent The Lord Jesus Christ to all she comes in contact with, by displaying His love, compassion, fruit of the spirit, and wisdom, that He may be honored and glorified. (John 15:8)
Arthur (Art) Lindsey Sr. was born and raised in Una, South Carolina. He and his wife Janie are parents of three children and five grandchildren. Art served in the U.S. Navy and attended Rutledge Business College and graduated from Spartanburg Technical College. He is also a published author of the book Racism: The Goliath Within The Present Day Church.
Art loves to share two of God’s greatest commandments with others so all believers can live as a united Body of Christ. Matthew 22:36-40
Curtis was born in Spartanburg SC and graduated from Carver High School. He and his wife Carrie have been married for 46 years. They have four children and six grandchildren. Curtis attended Rutledge College and is retired from Crown Cork & Seal after thirty-eight years. He was called by God into the ministry as an evangelist on December 28, 2010. His heart beat is seeing souls saved, healed, delivered and set free by the power of The Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus Christ. Curtis has been active in Prison Ministry for over 20 years, and Boys Home ministry for young men between the ages of 13-17. Curtis is also currently involved in Miracle Hill Rescue Mission (Bible Study). He believes that God loves people and wants to tell them, no matter who they are or what side of the track they are from.
Minnie ”Pearl” Sims is a native of Spartanburg, SC, where she and her three siblings were raised by her father. She is a devoted mother of two, James and Janata, and a proud grandmother of five. Pearl gave many years of service to Mountain View Nursing Home, and is now happily retired. July 21, 1984 is one of the most important days in Pearl’s life as it is when she gave her life to Jesus, empowered by the words of Psalm 147:3
She has been a part of the Vanguard ministry since its inception, and received her minister’s license through this ministry. Pearl’s mission in life is to become one with The Father. Through this relationship, it is her hope that she is able to inspire, equip and ignite others to do the same. Her aspiration is to teach the Word of God, and to counsel people so that they may take that word, live by it, and remain in The Father.
